How become an EMJD ICE sponsor

Associated Partner

The process to become an associated member is very long and subject to the approval of the European Agency (EACEA) requiring a formal amendment to the Framework Partnership Agreement already signed between the Coordinating institution (on behalf of the consortium) and the Agency.

Candidate partners must submit a formal request to EMJD ICE consortium stating their strong interest and committment in becoming an associated partner.

The PhD Steering Committee will evaluate the candidature(s) and will resolve upon the acceptance of the candidate as associtaed partner.

Certified Partner

An external partner to be considered as an EMJD ICE Certified Partner shall follow the following  scheme:

  • Collection of internal or external funds to cover fellowship costs under the form of: a) living allowance costs as per employment contract (2,800 € per month as gross salary) or stipend (1,400 € per month as net salary); b) travel subsistence (subject to variation but covering mobility to and from the certified partner country and the EMJD ICE hosting institutions); c) tuition fees (according to national regulation during the study period spent in the certified partner institution and according to EMJD ICE regulations in terms of tuition fees (11,800 € per year for Category A candidates and 10,000 € per year for Category B candidates))
  • Opening of one or more PhD position(s) by the certified partner through a public call for application compliant with EMJD ICE Call for Application regulations;
  • Candidate(s) selection according to EMJD ICE Selection and Admission Committee already established evaluation steps and parameters;
  • Candidate(s) registration and enrolment according to EMJD ICE regulations in compliance with certified partner own regulations;
  • Each candidate spends one year and a half (mandatory) in one of the EMJD ICE consortium universities.
     

Moreover, EMJD ICE services shall be guaranteed to the selected candidate(s) as specified in the EMJD ICE official website (www.icephd.org) and in the “EMJD ICE proposal Part E”.
 

Supporting Partner

A supporting partner has the possibility of sustaining EMJD ICE consortium through the offer of additional grants positions through the signature of an “EMJD ICE Supporting Partner Grant Agreement” which will be signed by the supporting partners and the universities offering the research project associated with the grant.

The amount of the grant can belong to four different categories:

  • Platinum Cat. A (extra EU-27 candidates) - full grant coverage as employment contract, travel subsistence and full tuition fees coverage (~ 143 K€ along 3 years);
  • Platinum Cat. B (EU-27 candidates) - full grant coverage as employment contract and full tuition fees coverage (~ 130 K€ along 3 years);
  • Golden Cat. A (extra EU-27 candidates) - full grant coverage as stipend, travel subsistence and full tuition fees coverage (~ 93 K€ along 3 years);
  • Golden Cat. B (EU-27 candidates) - full grant coverage as stipend and full tuition fees coverage (~ 80 K€ along 3 years).

During the grant period, a supporting partner will have the possibility of hosting a PhD candidate for a visiting training period lasting no more than 6 months.
